Brevard Public Schools Reopen Today After Three Flood Closure Days
All Brevard Public Schools reopen today, Thursday, November 5, after three days closed for flooding. Buses run normal routes, before- and after-school care resumes, and storm-related absences are excused.
Brevard Public Schools announced Wednesday afternoon that all schools will reopen today, Thursday, November 5, after three days closed for flooding. The district said it completed assessments of all campuses and is ready to welcome students and staff back.
Transportation will be fully operational, with buses running normal schedules, though families should expect possible delays in areas still affected by the storm. Before- and after-school care will be fully operational, and after-school sports and activities resume as scheduled.
All storm-related student absences will be excused. Several schools, particularly in the southern part of the county, remain under a boil water notice through the end of the week because of the City of Melbourne water utility advisory. Families at affected schools will hear directly from their school with more information.
The closure covered Monday, November 2 through Wednesday, November 4. Families should check Brevard Public Schools official channels for any further updates.
