Makoto's To Go Opening at Stadium Square by End of 2026
The owners of Makoto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi are opening Makoto's To Go, a fast-casual concept with a streamlined menu, at Stadium Square in Viera by the end of 2026.
A Space Coast dining institution is getting a fast-casual sibling. Sun-Ja Wingfield and Yo Tonyai, who bought Makoto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi in 2022, are preparing to open Makoto's To Go by the end of 2026, according to Florida Today.
The new concept will offer a streamlined version of the restaurant's menu in a fast-casual format. It is planned for Stadium Square, the retail center under construction at the corner of Pineda Boulevard and Stadium Parkway in Viera.
The original Makoto, at 785 South Babcock Street in Melbourne, has served hibachi and sushi for more than four decades. The expansion follows the growth of the family's Makoto Dressing business, which now produces about 36,000 bottles a day and is planning a new 70,000-square-foot production facility expected to open in 2028.
